Coach Jarvis?
I got into coaching relatively quickly at CWMS. In 2018, which was my first year teaching, Coach Trivette allowed me to help with his 8th grade boys' basketball team. I was hooked from the moment I stepped out for that first practice. The team struggled that season, but we persevered through some adversity that gave me plenty of perspective about coaching. Even though I loved my time working with Coach Trivette, a coaching position came open for the 7th grade girls' team and I jumped at the opportunity.
This is the team that I coached during my most recent season (2019-2020). It would not be an exaggeration to say that I had a baptism by fire. There were so many things I had never done, like being a head basketball coach or working with a girls' team. This past season was full of plenty of tough lessons and losses, but there were so many more good things to come of it. The girls worked harder and developed more than most folks thought possible. We won some hard fought games against good teams. In some of our final close losses, we showed opponents that we can hang with the top tier talent our conference has to offer. Most importantly, our team grew as strong young women and overcame obstacles that they once thought impossible. I am beyond proud of my girls and I can not wait to get to work for 2020-2021 season.

Football?!
I am beyond thrilled to say that I will be the Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator for the 2020 Central Wilkes Falcons' football season! This will be my first year working with Coach Correll, who has been cultivating winning football cultures for the past 30 years. I am undoubtedly a young coach, particularly in comparison to my esteemed coaching colleague, but that does not mean I will be any less prepared for the upcoming season.
Football has been my passion from a very young age and likely began watching Jake Delhomme, Steve Smith, and Julius Peppers on Sundays. Once I was old enough I immediately began playing Sertoma league football up until I got into East Wilkes High School. Here while on the varsity team I was able to achieve all-conference at right guard my senior season. I had some aspirations of walking on to some small programs, but instead I attended Mars Hill University on a community service scholarship. However, this hiatus from being involved in the game did not stop my passion for it. I continued to religiously watch professional and collegiate football, analyzing different strategies, coaching styles, techniques, and basically anything to do with the game of football. In truth, I strive to be a student of the game. These are some of the traits I am looking to bring for the 2020 season. I am fully committed to creating a dynamic defense that will once again establish Central Wilkes as a force in this conference.
